Telford-based IT company Bespoke Computing proudly sponsored the 10th anniversary of the Dyslexia Awards, held at the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel.
Founded by Elizabeth Wilkinson MBE, the competition focuses on positives, strengths and abilities, celebrating artists, entrepreneurs, innovators and community champions.
Bespoke Computing managing director Chris Pallett described it as ‘another amazing celebration’ which saw the company take to the stage to present two of the night’s 10 awards.
“We are very proud to have sponsored the competition for several years now, supporting the wonderful Eli who is so passionate about making a difference,” Chris said.
“We work in an industry where there are a lot of neurodivergent people, and anything that helps to raise awareness of the issues is positive for society, and for our industry.”
This year Bespoke Computing sponsored two award categories – the Community Shining Star award for people aged 20 and over, and the Role Model award.
Nominations came from across the UK and the Channel Islands, with winners selected by a judging panel of dyslexics, neurodiverse and neurotypicals, advocate, past finalists and past winners.
Chris added: “The evening was a powerful reminder of just how much talent, creativity and determination exists within the dyslexic community.
“The stories shared throughout the night highlighted why recognition matters, and why organisations like ours must continue championing inclusion and neurodiversity.
“It was a brilliant night. The achievements were inspiring, and we were humbled and proud to have played a role in shining a spotlight on such exceptional people.”
