One of the UK’s leading aerospace suppliers, Telford-based Advanced Chemical Etching (ACE), have been honoured with a prestigious global award by Collins Aerospace.
ACE celebrated 25 years as a business this year and became the only UK-based company to receive the RTX Premier Award for Business Management performance from Collins Aerospace, highlighting its ability to achieve 100% on-time delivery and right first-time scores in 2024.
The award highlights ongoing excellence in the company’s business management, innovation, customer service and a strong commitment to sustainability, as the industry moves to greener manufacturing.
Ian Whateley, managing director of ACE said: “We have been working with Collins Aerospace and other RTX businesses for more than 20 years, supplying specialist, small quantity production components for use in R&D and other groundbreaking projects.”
ACE currently employ 70 people in Telford, and the scope of its activities is broad, making anything from simple washers to highly complex precision components for applications such as battery interconnects and grids, cooling plates and heating components.
Chris Ball, executive director added: “We can supply into many areas, including heat exchanger plates, hydrogen fuel cells and full electric engine parts for commercial aircraft and UAV platforms.
“There are also components like ice protection heater elements, precision shims/gaskets, and interior lighting – all produced for our aerospace clients from our world class manufacturing facility in Telford and at our sister site ACE Forming in Kingswinford.”
ACE was launched by Ball, alongside Alan Rollason and David Latham and has come a long way from its 4500 square foot unit and just six employees.
Today, the company ships components to more than 33 different countries and works with customers in automotive, aerospace, medical, renewables and electronics.
