SCU Motorsport Secures Grant Offer to Revolutionize Motorsport Education with Digital Technologies

Slide1

SCU Motorsport, a leading motorsport education provider, is thrilled to announce that it has been offered a significant grant by Ufi VocTech Trust. This grant will enable SCU Motorsport to develop a ground-breaking and innovative education approach for training motorsport mechanics and engineers. Ufi VocTech Trust champion the use of vocational technologies to help adults improve their skills for work, making this grant offer a perfect fit for SCU Motorsport’s vision.

The core focus of SCU Motorsport’s development is the creation of a pioneering 3D Learning Environment. Leveraging the power of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR), this cutting-edge platform will revolutionize the way students learn and assess their skills. SCU Motorsport aims to establish a 3D Virtual Motorsport Garage, providing students with a lifelike racing car workshop experience accessible from anywhere.

The 3D Learning Environment serves as a crucial component of SCU Motorsport’s broader programme, which includes the creation of a new qualification tailored to meet the demands of the motorsport industry. Additionally, the company is launching a race series exclusively for colleges, universities, and UTCs (University Technical Colleges), featuring the design of a bespoke single-seater race car. The virtual learning and assessment environment will integrate seamlessly with these initiatives, further enhancing the educational experience for students.
As part of Ufi VocTech Trust’s Activate grant fund 2023, SCU Motorsport will develop a stand-alone ‘proof of concept’ race car set-up module. This module will be delivered to UTC Oxfordshire later this year, marking an exciting milestone in the implementation of SCU Motorsport’s ground-breaking education approach.

SCU Motorsport takes great pride in its collaboration with renowned Technical Partners and Sponsors, many of whom are influential entities in the West Midlands and Telford area. As the project progresses, SCU Motorsport invites additional Technical Partners and Sponsors to join and support this pioneering initiative, shaping the future of motorsport education.
