Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is holding the second of two workshops next week providing top tips for employers looking to enter this year’s county business awards.
The two-hour session at the Chamber’s Telford offices, on Stafford Park, will be held from 10am to noon on March 11.
It is being led by Carl Jones, one of the co-founders of the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards who has been involved in the organising, shortlisting and judging of the competition every year since 2001.
He said: “One of the most frustrating aspects of the competition is when we receive entries from companies which we know are brilliant, but haven’t done themselves justice on their entry forms – or answered the questions being asked.
“The judges can only score an entry on what has been written, so this workshop is designed to provide practical tips to ensure you are meeting the competition’s requirements and presenting yourself in a clear and concise way.”
The workshop is designed to help companies identify the sort of story they need to tell, and understand how to present it.
It also looks at ways of structuring an awards entry – and reveals at examples of good and bad applications from previous years.
The free session is available on a first come, first served basis. All the details are at https://www.shropshire-chamber.co.uk/events/events-calendar/shropshire-chamber-business-awards-award-writing-workshop-2
The Shropshire Chamber Business Awards are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and there are more than a dozen categories.
The closing date for applications is April 4, and the winners will be announced at the awards night at Telford International Centre on June 20.
