The event will be held at Telford Minister, Meeting Point House, Southwater Square, Telford, TF3 4HS.
The Care Leaver Covenant aims to bring the wider business community and organisations together to offer their support, services and opportunities to young people as they leave the care of the local authority.
Children are taken into care for a number of reasons, all of which present significant challenges for our young people. Together with the council, signatories to the Care Leaver Covenant will become part of the wider family for our care leavers who, unlike many children, do not benefit from the support network provided by an extended family. We are sure you will agree that participation in this initiative is a very positive way for your organisation to continue to build the strong culture of business contribution within our local area.
You will have the opportunity to hear about the fantastic work that has been completed by our young people and the council in the publication of our offer to care leavers. Our support to our Care Leavers includes the support available for finance, employment, training, education, accommodation, health and wellbeing and relationships.
Please come along, to hear how you can contribute and make a positive difference to the experiences and prospects of our young people leaving care, through the Care Leaver Covenant; hear more about what this could mean for your business or organisation, and crucially what a difference it could make to the life of a Telford & Wrekin young person. Many local businesses, including Severn Trent and Lovell, have already joined the pledge and we are encouraging you to join and be a part of the success.
